The Summit Fastpitch Softball Recreational program aims to teach players the fundamentals of fastpitch softball, foster skill development, and instill good sportsmanship in a positive and enjoyable environment.
Eligibility:
Open to girls in Kindergarten through Grade 8 who reside in Summit, NJ.
Season:
- Practices: Begin in late March.
- Games: Run from April to early June (end of the school year).
Program Goals:
- Teach players the fundamentals of the game.
- Create an environment to develop softball skills, sportsmanship, and personal integrity.
- Connect players from different parts of Summit to build new friendships.
- Cultivate a passion for the game of softball.
Schedule:
- Practices: Typically, once per week.
- Games: 1-2 per week, depending on age group.

Softball Clinics
Fastpitch Softball Pitching & Catching Clinics
SSBL offers a variety of clinics throughout the year, applicable to various ages and all skill levels, including specialty clinics targeting pitching and catching. Information can be found below.
2026 Spring
*For SSBL Rec Softball Players only!
Grades: 2–4 (Beginners)
Location: TBD (most likely Memorial/Ashland)
Dates: April 12, 19, 26 & May 3 (rainout dates: May 17 and May 31)
Time: 4:00–5:00 PM
Cost: $50 per child (SSBL will subsidize an additional $50 per player)
